Blackpop's Blog
Blackpop are delighted to be launching their new collection of Wallpapers & Fabrics at Decorex in September 2018. The ‘Collector’s’ Collection is inspired by the Sir John Soane’s Museum, London’s hidden gem and treasure trove of antiquities and wonder.
Collaborating with the museum and directly working and reworking architects drawings, paintings and objects d'art, Blackpop has undoubtedly created its most opulent & dramatic work to date.
The ‘Collector’s’ Collection consists of 5 new wallpaper designs, 3 new fabric designs and 2 hand woven rugs, each with its own story to tell.
A portion of all sales go to the Sir John Soanes Museum

Designer and Director Maxine Hall says:
“ To work with this renowned collection has been an immense privilege and at times I have felt a heady responsibility to do justice to these precious and iconic artefacts. A couple of my highlights were reworking two of Adam’s illustrations that never came to realisation until now, embedded in ‘Fresco’.
The other was working with and taking out segments from Canaletto’s paintings of Venice and reassembling them for the background of ‘Capriccio’. Our design approach isn’t to copy existing motifs it’s a creative process of dismantling, reassigning and combining to create works of art in their own right.”
