Printed Voiles are a light-weight alternative to velvet curtains. Our voiles are printed using transparent fabric which means the pattern shows through the back, making them perfect for privacy curtains.

How to measure for curtains
When measuring for width, always measure the curtain track or pole width, not the window.
Measure from end to end – A
Measure between the decorative ends – C
MEASURING FOR CURTAIN DROP:
Curtains can either be hung to the floor, to a sill or below the sill. If you wish them to break on the floor, please allow this in the overall length required.
Measuring the drop from a track – Measure from the top of the track to where the curtain is to finish.
MEASURING THE DROP FROM A POLE:
Measuring the drop from a pole – For pencil pleat, triple and double pleat headings, measure from the underside of the decorative ring to where you want the curtain to finish.
MEASURING THE DROP FROM AN EYELET HEADING:
The eyelet will fit poles up to 63mm in diameter with the inner edge of the eyelet set down 3cm from the top of the curtain. Measure from the top of the pole to where you want the curtains to finish and add 3cm.
MEASURING VALANCES:
Board width = A + B + C
Use the board width (not the curtain track width) to determine the size of valance required. This is normally approximately 30cm wider than the curtain rail is fitted to, due to the returns on either end. See diagram for details.
How To Measure For Blinds
Blinds may be fitted either inside or outside the window recess. If a blind is being fitted inside a recess, please quote ‘recess size’ on the measuring form and we will make an adjustment for a perfect fit at the time of manufacture. If a blind is being fitted outside a recess, please quote ‘blind size’ on the measuring form and the blind will then be manufactured to the size quoted. If more than one blind is being fitted on the window please quote the size of each individual blind rather than the overall recess size.
When deciding whether to fit the blind inside or outside the recess, consider the following points. It will be necessary to fit the blind outside the recess if:
The window opens inwards
The window is not straight (width or height varies by more than 20mm (3/4″)
MEASURING FOR A RECESS FITTING:
Measure the width and the drop in 3 positions noting any protrusions.
When measuring the window recess:
Always use a metal tape measure and measure in millimetres.
Measure the width and the drop in at least three positions, taking account of any protrusions such as tiles and dado rails.
Make a note of the smallest width and drop measurement.
Please quote width and drop sizes in millimetres, stating ‘recess size’ on the order form.
MEASURING OUTSIDE A WINDOW RECESS:
Allow the blind to extend approximately 100mm either side, and 100mm above and below the window.
When measuring
Always use a metal tape measure and measure in millimetres.
If the blind is being fitted outside the recess allow the blind to extend approximately 100mm either side and 100mm above and below the window
Make a note of the required width and drop measurement.
Please quote width and drop sizes in millimetres, stating “blind size” on the measuring form.
The above instructions also apply for roller and venetian blinds.
