As winter approaches, you'll be ever so slightly bonkers to head out without a scarf to keep those frosty chills at bay. As a stylish and super-warm alternative to wool or cashmere, silk is, in fact, one of the best natural insulators, and our brand new eco-silk scarves are no exception.
Making a welcome comeback, these scarves are the epitome of elegance. Super soft and featuring some of our most beloved designs, they are an eco-faux option, offering an alternative to the problematic nature of silk production.
Double layered for that touch of extra luxe and comfort, they come in a variety of sizes, including large squares, narrow [with and without fringing], and wider widths and are designed in Derbyshire and made in the UK.

Back in 230 BC, warriors of the Chinese Emperor Cheng wore scarves to denote their rank. But it wasn't until the 17th century that the use of silk scarves was an indication of class and status. In ancient Egypt, Queen Nefertiti is said to have worn a tightly-woven headscarf beneath her jewelled headpieces, and much later, Bonaparte bestowed them as gifts for the Empress Josephine, who apparently collected over 400 in the span of only three year - lucky her!

In 1937, the French luxury house Hermès, which had previously only dealt with bridles and harnesses before entering the leather goods business, introduced what would become the first true luxury silk scarf.
